Analysing Music Videos

Analysing Music Videos

Music videos are sometimes very hard to get in terms of what they are trying to show or represent in a visual manner. Sometimes we may understand what the lyrics are telling us but the video may have nothing to do with the lyrics as they may be using a sub story instead of using the lyrics to illustrate what the artist or artists are trying to show. Music videos have always interested me, particular the way they are shot or the location but mainly the way they take the song and then try to tell it visually. For example below are some videos which i think are particularly interesting for mordern times.

The video above is Avicii's song Wake me up. It is the offical video as there are other ones which are shown in the charts. It is currently in the top UK offical charts.(http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singles).
"Wake Me Up" (stylized as "Wake Me Up!") is a song by Swedish disc jockey (DJ) and music producer Avicii, which features uncredited vocals from American soul singer Aloe Blacc and work from Incubus' Mike Einziger. It was released in June 2013 as the first single from Avicii's full-length debut studio album, True, which is set to be released on 17 September 2013.The song achieved critical and commercial success internationally, peaking at number one in much of Europe and charting well in all of the English-speaking world. The song has been described as a "summer anthem" and, throughout the 2013 festival season, Avicii included it as part of the opening or closing sequence of his sets at EDC Las Vegas, EDC London, Tomorrowland, Creamfields and Electric Zoo.
