Alien ant farm ‘Movies’

Alien ant farm 'Movies'

This is the original version they did of this song. This is from when they were just sarting of. the video below this one is the version they released later on when had became more popular and had more money.

This video has a catching song. It is also very simple but in my opinion because of how simple it is it means that the focus of the audience is more on the song and the bands rather than things that have nothing to do with the song. The song is very catching and it has a good beat which make you really want to listen. It really shows the rawness of the band as this is from when they started out.

This is the same song as above but this time it has been re-released with a new video. You can see how much the band has changed as for the elements used in this video like the band jumping into the movie screen but also the intertextuality of popualr films at that time from Charlie and the chocolate factory to Ghost busters. They really bring the theme of the song alive as it is based in a movie theatre but also within actual movies. I personally think it is a very good video and this version is as good as the origianl but this one is good for the different elemenst where as the other is good in terms of how it is stripped back, raw and focussing on the band and song.

These are the lyrics:
At slow speed we all seem focused
In motion we seem wrong
In summer we can taste the rain

[Chorus:]
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

Two can play this game
We both want power
In winter we can taste the pain

In our short years, we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away

[Chorus]

You won't cry, I won't scream

In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away
And if we make a little space
A science fiction showcase
In our short film, a love disgrace
Dream a scene to brighten face
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad, just to throw it away

[Chorus]
